Jacob Titus, a local senior who attends Christ's Church - Mandarin, wanted to become and Eagle Scout. To do so, he came to Christ's Church Academy...and helped the Eagles!
A member of Troop 280, Titus decided to raise funds and organize a group of volunteers to rebuild CCA's Lower School deck, which had fallen into disrepair and was not in good shape heading into hurricane season.
Over several months, Titus held car washes, performed odd jobs, and solicited donations from the public to raise the $2000 necessary for the deck supplies. Then, on three consecutive weekends in the blistering heat of August, Titus and 20 volunteers teamed up to put the deck together.
With the completion of the project, Titus expects to be inducted into the Eagle Scouts in early 2018. All of us at CCA are honored and humbled to have been blessed by Jacob and his project, and we wish him the very best in the future.
The deck is strong, well-built, and beautiful. Most importantly, it is now home to the daily fun and games of snack time for our lower school students!
