Summer Reading Lists, Assignments, and School Supplies K-12

LOWER SCHOOL (Kindergarten - 5th Grade)

Summer affords an excellent opportunity to sharpen reading skills during non-academic time, and it is also the time to help foster a love of reading. Strong literacy skills help support every academic arena and promote independence in learning.

Summer Reading and Assignment Requirements:
• Each grade level has  two (2) mandatory books for summer reading. Click here for the Summer Reading List.  Please be aware that all students will be required to take an Accelerated Reader assessment on their summer reading when they return to school in August.
One project is required and will be appropriate for the grade level.  Click here for Summer Reading Project instructions.

Summer IXL Assignments:
IXL is an online personalized learning tool that CCA uses to challenge and enrich student curriculum. *For NEW CCA students, you will receive an email from your principal with log-in information. Returning students will continue to use your current log-in.
Each student should complete 100 IXL questions in MATH and 100 IXL questions in LANGUAGE ARTS in the grade they have promoted from and the grade they are promoting to.
