High / Middle School Mid-Year Exam Schedules

December 17-19, 2018


This year, there will be early dismissal at 11:30am for 

ALL CCA students on exam days. 


(There is no school lunch served on exam days due to early dismissal.)

*English exam includes HS courses English 1-4 S&H; AP Language and AP Literature

***Social Studies includes HS courses Amer. Government H; World Cultural Geography; World History AP, S&H; US History AP, S&H; AP Psychology; AP Euro History; 

AP Human Geography


  1. Students who do not take a Spanish class are not required to come to school on Wednesday, December 19, unless they are scheduled for a Make-up Exam.  Parents may pick up students in car line after the Spanish exam on December 19 (at 9:50am) if no make-up exam is scheduled. 
  2. Students are required to wear uniforms to school on exam days.
  3. All MS and HS students must arrive to school at 8:00 AM and be ON TIME for exams. 
  4. A student riding home with someone who is not on the normal pick-up list must have a written note signed by a parent.  NO EXCEPTIONS.
  5. Due to conflicts with other Social Studies exams, the AP Psychology exam will be administered on Wednesday at 9:55am.





6th, 7thand 8thGrades


  • All Middle School students will take mid-year exams in English, Science, Social Studies, and Math. The mid-year exam grade will appear in the exam column of the report card for semester 1.
  • Dismissal is at 11:30 a.m. on exam days. No US lunch is served on exam days. 
  • Middle School students are not required to come to school on Wednesday, December 19 unless they have a make-up test/exam or are enrolled in a HS Spanish class. 


High School


  • Mid-year exams are scheduled for English, Science, Social Studies, Math, and Spanish. The mid-year exam grade will appear in the exam column of the report card for semester 1.
  • All students will be dismissed at 11:30 a.m. on exam days. Students who do not have Spanish or a make up exam are not required to come to school on Wednesday, December 19. 
  • Parents may pick up HS students in car line after the Spanish exam on Wednesday, December 19 (at 9:50 a.m.) if no make-up exam is scheduled.
  • Exam Exemption guidelines for senior exams are listed below.  There are no exceptions to the exemption rules.

Please make sure that your child is at school on-time, arriving no later than 8:00 a.m.Testing episodes will begin on time. Tardy students will not be given additional time to complete exams. Room assignments for testing will be posted the morning of each exam. Students who do not have an exam will go to a study hall. No upper school lunch is served on exam days.


All students are required to stay in the testing room until the end of the exam period.


Mid-Year Exam Privilege


High school students may exempt from the American Government Honors Mid-Year Examprovided they meet the following qualifying criteria:

  • Student must have a 90% or higher semester average in the exempted class. 
  • No in-school or out-of-school suspensions during the semester
  • No more than ten (10) absences (excused or unexcused) per semester in any exam exempted class
  • Community service hours (cumulative 75 hours for seniors) completed and turned in by deadline date of December 1, 2018.   
  • Exam Exemption Form must be completed, signed by teacher/administrator, and turned in no later than Thursday, December 13, 2018.

(The HS Mid-Year Exam Exemption Form must be properly completed and turned in to the US office by the deadline date. No forms will be accepted after the deadline. Forms will be available from the teacher or US office on Dec. 10, 2018.) 

  • Qualifying students have the option of taking the mid-year exam(s) to improve their semester average(s). If taken, the exam(s) will be included in the first semester average.
