Ms. Baygents, a native of Jacksonville, joined CCA as a substitute teacher in 2018 and then joined the staff as a teacher in January 2019. She graduated from UNF with a Masters Degree in American History. In her corporate career, she served in the finance/banking industry and then as the Human Resource Manager of a Fortune 500 security company. She completed her college work while working full time as a single mother. She taught as an adjunct professor at night in addition to her full-time employment. Ms. Baygents served in numerous charitable organizations, including Community Hospice, where she was the capital campaign coordinator to build the Hadlow House on Sunbeam Road. Her son and daughter-in-law have given her three granddaughters - the oldest graduated from CCA in 2020. She continues to audit history courses at UNF since her graduation in 2008. She is passionate about helping students develop critical thinking skills to make history relevant. She enjoys the faith-based, academic, and supportive environment of CCA and looks forward to working with her students this year.
