August 3, 2021 Update

August 3, 2021

CCA Parents and Students,

The purpose of this email is to provide you with important information regarding our new safety measures and COVID protocols as we begin the start of a new school year.  As we continue to monitor both the recommended guidelines for safety and the governance provided by our local authorities, our policy is as follows:

Masks will be optional for both students and teachers in classrooms and common areas.  Parents and guardians should provide specific instruction to their child if they desire for them to wear a face covering and when it is appropriate for them to do so.  Teachers will not be responsible for ensuring that students adhere to the specific direction of parents on an individual basis.  It will be the responsibility of the parent and student if a face covering is desired.

This same protocol is also established for events outside of normal day-to-day academic programming, including athletic and fine art events.

We will continue with our rigorous sanitation and cleaning protocols for classrooms and common areas daily to mitigate the risk of contamination and exposure.

We will also continue to limit parent and volunteer access to the school facility to mitigate the risk of exposure as students and teachers acclimate at the start of the new school year.  Our goal of all policies is to create a safe, COVID-free school environment that limits any disruptions to education. We will reassess this policy as soon as the risk is lowered.

Parents and guardians should not send their child to school if they are displaying any symptoms of sickness.  If a child becomes ill or displays symptoms while at school, parents will be contacted for immediate pick-up.

We are monitoring current CDC guidelines as we determine our campus safety policies. Should your student become sick, or be exposed by close contact to someone who is positive for COVID-19, the following are the quarantine guidelines:

If your child has not been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, they will need to quarantine for a minimum of 5 days. Close contact is defined as any individual that was within 6 feet of a confirmed positive person for a cumulative of 15 minutes or more within a 24-hour period, with or without a mask.  A negative test does not negate the need to quarantine due to exposure.  Positive or probable case of COVID-19 and have symptoms, may return after at least 10 days have passed since symptoms first appeared, AND at least 24 hours have passed since last fever (100 degrees) without the use of fever-reducing medication, AND symptoms have improved (e.g. cough, shortness of breath).  Positive test for COVID-19 but no symptoms throughout their infection may return after at least 10 days have passed since the date of their first positive test.

If your child has been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, they will not need to quarantine due to exposure.  They will, however, be required to wear a mask for five days upon their return to school.

Should your child need to quarantine, you will be notified by your student’s teachers within 24 hours of the start of the quarantine period and given specific direction to meet your child’s needs for remote instruction and materials.

The primary contact for our school clinic this year is Linda Visman.  Our preferred method to contact Linda, both during and after school hours is to email her at

The health and safety of our students and families is a top priority.  Based on our due diligence we believe the policies above will serve us well as we begin the new year.  If you have any questions or concerns regarding the contents of this communication, please contact Dawn Beeson, Director of Business. We look forward to welcoming your students to the start of a new year, and are excited to see what God has in store for us all!
