Technology Requirements

Technology is an imperative piece of CCA’s curriculum, as it offers many opportunities for our students to become more engaged in their studies.  To utilize all the many facets of our educational programs, each student in grades K-12 is required to have an electronic device for daily classroom use.  

Lower School: Elementary (K-5) Requirements

iPad Requirements

  • iPadOS 16 or 17 Compatible Device
    • Minimum 64GB storage capacity
  • Compatible Devices
    • iPad Air (2020 or newer)
    • iPad mini (2020 or newer)
    • iPad (2020 or newer)
    • iPad Pro 11″ (2020 or newer)
    • iPad Pro 12.9″ (2018 or newer)

Recommendations

  • iPad Models with 64GB storage capacity start at approximately $329.
  • iPad Case
    • The HDE case is available on Amazon and Walmart.com for under $20. Note: This case does not protect the screen from scratches unless a screen protector is purchased separately.
    • For ultimate protection, consider the OtterBox Defender Series or similar hard cases that include screen protection.

Upper school: Middle School (6-8) and High School (9-12) Requirements

Device Requirements

  • Windows Laptop or Tablet
    • Operating System: Windows 10 or 11
  • Apple Laptop
    • Manufactured in 2019 or newer
    • Running macOS 12 (Monterey) or newer (13 or 14)
  • iPad
    • 64GB storage capacity or more
    • Manufactured in 2020 or later
    • Running iPadOS 16 or 17
  • Microsoft Office365
    • Web-based apps (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) provided by CCA
    • Compatible with the above devices

Recommendations

  • For Middle School students, we strongly recommend purchasing/using an Apple iPad, as it is the device most commonly used by teachers in the classroom.
  • An updated antivirus and spyware software is recommended, especially for PC-based computers.
  • built-in camera and microphone are required.
  • HDMI video adapters are recommended but not necessary.
  • A secure tablet or laptop carrying case is recommended.

Note: Cell phones are not considered acceptable devices and may not be used in the classroom for academic purposes.
