Message from the Head of School – March

Dear CCA Families,

As we step into this new month, I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible impact that serving others has on the spiritual formation of our students. At Christ’s Church Academy, we believe that faith in Christ is not just something to be studied in a classroom, but rather, it is something to be lived out in real and tangible ways. One of the most profound ways to grow in our relationship with Christ is by serving others, both within and beyond our school community.

Research consistently shows that engaging in service fosters spiritual growth, deepens compassion, and strengthens one’s faith. Studies indicate that acts of service help individuals develop a greater sense of purpose, gratitude, and connection to God. In fact, according to a recent study by the Barna Group, 68% of young Christians who participate in service opportunities report feeling a stronger personal faith and a greater understanding of what it means to follow Jesus.

This truth was beautifully lived out by a group of CCA students who dedicated their entire spring break to serving in Mexico on a mission trip. Partnering with local believers, they worked tirelessly to build homes, support community programs, and share the love of Christ. Their commitment to this mission is a testament to the power of service in shaping hearts and drawing us closer to Jesus. Through this experience, our students not only impacted lives but also deepened their own faith and reliance on God.

As parents, you play a vital role in encouraging a heart of service in your children. Here are a few ways you can help cultivate this in your home:

  • Lead by Example: Find ways to serve as a family, whether through church outreach programs, volunteering at local shelters, or helping a neighbor in need. If you need help, let us know. Christ’s Church Ministries partners with several local organizations.
  • Encourage Reflection: After serving, take time to discuss the experience as a family. Ask your children what they learned, how they saw God at work, and how it strengthened their faith.
  • Connect Service to Scripture: Remind your children that serving others is an act of worship and obedience to Christ. Verses like Matthew 25:40—“Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me”—serve as powerful reminders of this calling.

We are so encouraged by the servant-hearted spirit we see in our students, and we urge all families to seek ways to serve beyond our school walls. May we continue to inspire our children to be the hands and feet of Jesus, living out their faith in a way that transforms both their lives and the lives of those they serve.

Thank you for your continued partnership in nurturing Christ-centered servant leaders.
